Resources

Why do Veterans need resources?
Memorial Day parades—like the one in North Highlands—aren’t just about tradition. They’re a way for the community to recognize that many veterans still need support even after their service ends.
Events tied to Memorial Day honor those who died in service, but they also bring attention to the people who came home and are still dealing with the effects of war. When you see veterans marching, it reminds people that issues like Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, injuries, and the challenge of adjusting to civilian life are ongoing.
Parades help:
-
Raise awareness about what veterans go through
-
Bring the community together to show support
-
Connect veterans with resources and each other
-
Keep their sacrifices from being forgotten
